The Varsity Team played a great game against East Alton Wood River tonight and were victorious with a final score of 6-1 . A. Nickens got things started late in the first period and put up the first goal of the night with 1:07 left (assist by D. Reiking).
East Alton scored 11 minutes into the second period but J. York refused to let the second period end in a tie and scored a goal with 31 seconds left in the period with D. Reiking once again providing the assist.
The third period was all Blue Rage with A. Nickens putting in his second of the night less than a minute into the period (assist B. Hoge). Next to score was J. York on a shorthanded breakaway. With 3:21 left to play B. Bittle added to the Freeburg lead (assist by C. Pees and A. Nickens). The final goal of the night was scored by the Blue Rage with 2:16 left on the clock.The team played a great game with fantastic passes and lots of energy adding up to 35 shots on goal.
